Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
1packageactive dry yeast
5cupsunbleached white flour
2tbspbaking powder
1tspbaking soda
1/2tspsalt
Wet Ingredients
3Tbspwarm water (100-110 degrees F)Not too hot or it will kill the yeast
1/4cuphoney
1/2cupolive oil
2cupsbuttermilk, at room temperature
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Sprinkle yeast on top of water water and mix. Set aside. Combine remaining dry ingredients and mix together. Add oil and honey to flour mixture. Pour in buttermilk and yeast mixture. Mix until combined. Do not over mix.
Turn dough out onto floured surface and knead a few times to make sure dough is combined. Pat or roll out dough into 1/2-1 inch thickness. Cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter and place on greased baking sheet
Bake at 400 degrees F for 8-12 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
